Make A Better World Foundation

The Make A Better World Foundation was founded in 1960 with the aim to improve the lives of hungry people around the world. With one of the strongest international presences in the developing world, Make A Better World Foundation aims to feed over 1,000,000 people annually.

The foundation is able to provide food to the poor in cooperation with the United States Government and foreign Governments. We have partnered with many other international organizations, such as the Red Cross and Doctors without Borders to provide for those who are in need of help.

While we do offer direct consumables to poor folk, we mainly try and provide the education for developing nations to grow and process their own food. Through our work, we have created an additional 500,000 acres of farm land that is harvested each and every year.

We have also been teaching the poor how to properly raise and breed livestock. The developing countries that we have directly worked in have had a rapid increase in their food reserves.

As we have continued to evolve our teachings, we are currently working on teaching the poor ways in which they can prepare food in bulk; which would eliminate the need to cook each and every day. One of the biggest factors that we hear from people is that they simply do not have enough time. By promoting bulk cooking methods, we are able to remove this constraint and educate people how to eat healthier.

We have been primarily using two methods in which we teach people: slow cookers and sous vide.


Slow cookers are pretty abundant in developing countries, since they are usually made there. However, they are very expensive for locals. We have been partnering with the manufacturers to donate their unused, lesser quality leftover slow cookers to the local communities where they make the machines. This has resulted in a 40% increase in bulk food production for the locals.

Sous vide has become more and more popular in developing countries. Contrary to popular opinion, there is a good amount of water ind developing countries; albeit the water will have to be filtered before using. Sous vide is a great technique for locals to utilize because all they have to do is have a pot, a plastic bag, some water, and a little motor. This lets them create their own home sous vide machine for dirt cheap – practically with materials that they already have laying around the house. The majority of the locals that we introduced the sous vide technique to have absolutely loved it.

In fact, the sous vide cooking method is much more popular than cooking with a slow cooker. We find that sous vide produces much better quality food that lasts longer. Up until recently, the poor people have been using their own homemade sous vide machines. However, we have had a recent donation of some of the best sous vide machines on the market.
